Our Mission
To improve St. Landry and Evangeline parishes by assessing the needs of the communities, mobilizing leaders and citizens through collaboration and volunteerism, and providing resource support to create lasting positive changes in lives, neighborhoods and communities.
Our Vision
We envision the citizens of St. Landry and Evangeline parishes to be healthy, educated and self-sufficient.
Organizational and Board Development Goals
Motivate and educate Board of Directors through targeted programs and continuously providing current information so that strong, sound decisions can be made. We will establish a process for recruiting effective members. We will ensure diversity is represented, and that all focus areas (Education, Health, Income) are represented.
Community Impact Goals
-
Improve education, and cut the number of high school dropouts, through a renewed focus on early childhood literacy and collaborating with local school boards and others to ensure quality early education programs, so that our children will be ready to learn by kindergarten.
-
Help people achieve financial stability by developing and/or promoting financial literacy training, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), and providing support and resources to the working poor, putting them on the road to economic independence.
-
Promote healthy lives, and increase community awareness around the issues of healthy lifestyles and access to healthcare, as we continue to foster and promote healthy living.
Our goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths — a strong and passionate leadership, committed partners and public engagement capacity — we can achieve them.
